Looking Good When Losing Weight
The joys of trying to look good when you don’t feel it! It is after all hard to feel good when you’re actually craving something. However, there are plenty of ways to perk up your mood, and one of them is making a concerted effort into making sure you look good and making the effort.
This sounds really odd, but choosing underwear that makes you feel good is the best place to start, from sexy lingerie by La Perla to supporting boxer/briefs/trunks. If you wear something that makes you comfortable, you’ll immediately feel better about yourself. Remember, unless you’re planning on doing a Brief Encounter moment, it doesn’t matter what you wear (or don’t). You need to feel sexy in yourself, and starting from the sheer basics and working your way up is essential.
Next, the bottom half, firstly, you have to feel comfortable, that means basically not having to cram yourself into something that is a size too small. Gents, this is where you are a little bit restricted, unless of course you are going to wear a skirt. For work wear, we are all a little restricted however something that is well cut and shows off your best assets is good. It should feel snug and supportive, but not tight.
The general rule of thumb is you should be able to feel it on your bottom, but it still have around 1cm of give to it and not feel like it’s bursting at the seams. The same goes with skirts, however, you should be able to take a decent sized step.
Now, the top half, think carefully, what are your best assets on your top half? Do you have arms people would kill for? Do you have a pleasing cleavage? Maybe you have a perfect hour glass figure. Dress to show off your best features.
You don’t have to look like you’re about to be cast as the lead in Pretty Woman, but showing off your best features is a sure fire way to boost your self esteem. Also, gents, try wearing Slim Fit shirts. Just because it says Slim, doesn’t mean they only go up to a 32” waist. Slim Fit is essentially the cut, and means it is tailored in a V from the shoulders and chest down, similar to a ladies blouse, but doesn’t have room for breasts.
These types of shirt also accentuate your chest and also inadvertently make you tense up slightly, burning calories simply by wearing them, which is a win-win situation.
Shoes are a big thing, they complete an outfit. However, you should always try to wear shoes with a slight heel, not only is it better for your posture, it is also guaranteed to make you feel better about your overall appearance.
Go with your instincts, but do push the boat out slightly and experiment with different textures, colours and materials to create a truly unique look. Furthermore think carefully about what you’re doing on that day. Walking around a 6” heels when you’re going to be walking all day is not a good idea!
